Subterranean Termite

As opposed to the reproductive termites which are mostly active from early to late spring the working subterranean termite is active throughout the year. They cause more damage in the US than all fires and windstorms combined, estimated at over 2 Billion dollars a year. Their diet consists of cellulose material (wood, paper, cardboard, etc) and in nature have a specific purpose, but unfortunately your home is usually made in a large part from termite food. Usually these insects avoid detection so an inspection at least once a year is important.
