Carpenter Bees

Carpenter bees are most active in spring and early summer. Similar to bumble bees, carpenter bees tunnel into bare, weathered or unpainted soft woods to nest, and often use tunnels to winter over. Damage is identified by round holes approximately the size of the end of your finger. A coarse sawdust like material at site of hole is a sure indication of activity.
